This recently completed project would not have been possible without the craftsmanship and care of our tradesmen, vendors and designers. All of the distinct elements came together beautifully to create something amazing!

We love how the Bourbon barrel staves were used by Four Board Woodworks to create texture for our latest bar in Prospect, Kentucky. Just add bottles and enjoy!

This dining room was originally covered in dark pine and received a complete makeover. The new flooring inlay, wainscoting, coffered ceiling with pecky cypress and fresh paint made it into a room to enjoy. All of the credit goes to Four Board Woodworks for another job well done.

Another custom built door is nearly ready for a finish. This one has found its forever home in the East End but there are more to adopt :)

A couple of custom zinc vent hoods ready for acid patina.

Looking forward to seeing these beautiful copper details installed!

We can't get enough of these custom Pecky Cypress drawers that were built in the Four Board Woodworks shop. The cause of Pecky is often misunderstood. No form of animal, insect or worm causes pecking and there is no possibility of the pecking continuing after the cypress tree is harvested. After the cypress is cut down, the causative agent itself is destroyed, leaving only the characteristic pocketing it created. Pecking is the result of a natural fungus (polyporus amarus) entering older living trees through branch loss or fires that destroy the bark. The live tissues exposed invite airborne fungi spores in, to begin the sculpturing process.

This Pecky Cypress mantle is in the finishing stages at Four Board Woodworks and will soon be residing at a Karzen Langan and James custom build in Prospect, Kentucky.

The project is nearly complete!
