After meeting the clients during the 2013 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, I was retained to work on their residence located just a few blocks away. The scope of work included a complete renovation of the house’s common areas. The dated staircase was to be revamped and the kitchen and living room were to be opened to the incredible views of the San Francisco bay. Working in conjunction with Nick Noyes Architecture, the briefing was to create a simple refined living space and a high tech kitchen for a family of four. Following our mandate, the furniture selection and placement is clean and crisp. Custom designed mohair sofas and linen armchairs with a Cathare coffee table by Christian Liaigre define the sitting area. In a reading corner is an exotic wing chair by Jean de Merry, upholstered in oxblood leather. A petrified wood table sits adjacent to the chair. Over the fireplace, a 19th century English portrait adds a touch of romance. The dining room is classic and dramatic with quintessential Cab armchairs, a John Pomp Studios’ Clear Band pendant and a silk area rug by Niba Rugs. The pièce de résistance, the kitchen, was carefully designed taking into consideration the desires of a professional chef, including an industrial washing area, baking center, commercial fryer and stove. The perfect environment for a young family who loves to cook!

One of our existing clients purchased an award winning residence designed by Zack/De Vito Architecture in the Noe Valley district of San Francisco. As we had worked on his previous residence, we knew his taste, style and overall requirements. The brief was simple: create cutting edge décor (with a bit of whimsy) that could stand up to the architecture while incorporating a few pieces from his present house. We started in the living room with an orange-to-gray silk carpet and a pair of Christian Liagre Latin Chairs. Added to the mix was a pair of original Papa Bear chairs and ottomans by Hans Wagner, a Knoll sofa and an over-sized industrial mold on the wall. The dining room, adjacent to the living area, was the perfect place for “Dancing Partners” by Robert Longo … purchased several years ago by the client at auction. We furnished the space with a live edge dining table and a set of natural leather saddle Cab armchairs. A pair of “85 lamps” chandeliers by Droog and a colorful Missoni carpet complete the space. Outside the dining room, an outdoor living room was created with a large teak sofa, armchairs and a pair of Chinese “scholar stones” used as coffee table. For a strong visual element, we added a metal sculpture by Agelio Battle, a perfect match for the steel components already in the garden created by the architect. The master suite on the sixth floor is reached by a dramatic steel and acrylic staircase. Walls were covered with Phillip Jeffrey’s Seagrass, giving warmth to the space. All the furniture was designed by us and manufactured by Fabian Fine Furniture.
